For my residency with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, I am creating a performance art piece for orchestra and electronics; exploring body movements and gestures to conduct the orchestra can invoke a sense of intrigue and curiosity. It is a unique way of presenting music that accentuates the performance and creates a dynamic between the conductor and musicians. By incorporating physical movements, the conductor can enhance the atmosphere and allow the audience to experience the music more tangibly.
