Dear Friends,
I’m excited to announce our latest venture in The Mosaic Project: FRANKENSTEIN, a new symphonic piece that invites your musical creativity! I am partnering with the Allentown Symphony to create this musical monster this time.
Imagine your musical idea coming to life in a full symphony orchestra! That’s what we’re aiming for with our latest Mosaic Project: FRANKENSTEIN.
The Mosaic Project is a unique collaborative music experience that brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures to create beautiful, diverse musical works. Just as a mosaic assembles small pieces of colored glass or stone to form art, we combine musical ideas from various contributors to create a symphonic masterpiece.
BACKGROUND AND HOW IT WORKS:
Our new project, FRANKENSTEIN, will be a work in 4 movements (or ACTS) telling the chilling story of Mary Shelley programmatically. The themes behind each movement are:
- Creation / Ambition
- Consequences / Isolation
- Demands / Desperation
- Tragedy / Chase
Which movement interests you the most? We’re looking for musical ideas to represent each part of this iconic story!
Here’s how you can participate:
- Choose your preferred theme/movement.
- Create a short musical idea or motif inspired by that part of the story. Any format is acceptable: Audio or video recording, PDF, XML file, or Hand-written musical notation.
- Submit your fragment to [https://fhttps://us4.admin.mailchimp.com/campaigns/edit?id=17385446orm.jotform.com/allentownsymphony/frankenstein-submission]. (Your submission can be as short as one measure)
Your musical fragment could become part of this exciting new composition, which the Allentown Symphony Orchestra will premiere in April 2025! If you have any questions, please reply to this email.
The DEADLINE for submissions is August 15th, 2024!
Let’s make some music together!
