(2025) TROPPO TROPICALE

TROPPO TROPICALE for orchestra is a celebration of the universality of music – proof that melodies can travel across continents and centuries, gaining new accents and new colors, while maintaining their communicative essence. It’s Rossini wearing a colorful frevo shirt, it’s Brazil dancing Italian opera, it’s music being exactly what it should be: pure fun without borders. Commissioned by the Cia de Ópera do Espírito Santo (COES).

Instrumentation:

  • Piccolo, 2 Fltues, 2 Oboes, English Horn. 2 Clarinets in Bb, 2 Bassoons, Contrabassoon. 
  • 4 Horns, 2 Bb Trumpets, 2 Trombones, Tuba

  • Blocos de Madeira (Wood Blocks)
  • Prato suspenso com baquetas de feltro (Suspended Cymbal with felt mallets)
