POLYPHONIA piece is a musical melting pot – blending flavors from different genres and cultures close to my heart. The driving Brazilian rhythms are an ode to my upbringing. You can hear the Baroque era woven through bursts of counterpoint, with independent melodies that intertwine and dance together. Moments of improvisation let the harmonies wander into jazz territory with lush extended chords. This composition is my attempt to honor these varied influences – synthesizing the complex and the evocative into something joyful and alive.
