When the covid9 pandemic evolved, artists were uncertain about their livelihood. As bad news of people succumbing to this awful disease soared, Elena Urioste and Tom Poster created an incredible initiative: The Jukebox Series. During the pandemic, they released hundreds of videos daily, with performances ranging from the saddest themes to the most extravagant and downright funny musical numbers that lifted the hearts of many. They commissioned a series of new works with the support of influential patrons who believed the music should keep playing. The series resulted in a recording project: The Jukebox Album, released on Orchidclassics, which received significant media attention, including a 2022 BBC Music Magazine Award. I am honored to have included the piece I wrote for them in the album EMOTIVA.
