An Exciting Summer of Music and Collaboration

Hello friends ! This summer brings a constellation of thrilling musical adventures showcasing collaboration, innovation, and artistic exploration. What ties these experiences together is music’s power to connect people across generations, cultures, and artistic disciplines. Each collaboration brings its unique voice to the ever-expanding tapestry of contemporary classical music.

League of American Orchestras Conference

I’ll be speaking at and performing at the League of American Orchestras 2025 National Conference—an honor to address fellow music professionals shaping the future of orchestral music. Adding to the excitement is the world premiere of RETRO-SCOPE with the Utah Youth Orchestra at the League Orchestra of the Americas conference.

Ongoing Residencies. & More Concerts

Now in my third year as Composer-in-Residence with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, I continue working with our flourishing Composer Collaborative.  My newer role as Composer-Educator in Residence with the Albany Symphony (2024-27) opens exciting doors for creative exploration and educational outreach.

The summer continues with the Grant Park Music Festival’s performance of Baião N’ Blues, where audiences often experience the power of orchestral music in Chicago’s beautiful outdoor setting, and on Saturday, June 28th, Third Coast Percussion celebrates their 20th anniversary with Rhythm Fest—an epic all-day rhythmic celebration at Chicago’s Epiphany Center for the Arts. I’ll be there performing a set with them.

PLAY! and Pride Celebrations

This past week,  Third Coast Percussion and I performed PLAY!—my concerto for percussion, vocalist, and orchestra—with the Albany Symphony. This piece explores the concept of play through games, toys, theater, and virtuosity.

On Friday, June 13th, I’ll be featured as an interviewed composer on MPR’s PRIDE Special program to celebrate Pride Month.
